I didn't go home for the winter break
So I'm here in this castle but don't really talk
The professors are gathered, drinking and laughing
But one of them asked me if I felt up to a walk
A dark forest stroll with Hagrid and Fang
Scent of pine, sightings of spiders
It's chilly outside on this December day
Thinking of drinking a mug of spiced cider
We came upon Thestrals eating birds
And saw the perfect log in the woods
I wore my new temperature-controlled robe
But still shivered and pulled up my hood
The half-giant picked up our Yule Log of ash
But asked me to hover it back with my wand
I didn't know how so I was then taught the charm
My new friend Hagrid, with magic as our bond
A fire was lit to keep the hut warm
Candles of white, red, and green
Decorations of holly and pine cones
Ivy and mistletoe, bloodstone and citrine
This Solstice I felt the warmth of kindness
And ended up having a nice time
In the afternoons of the rest of my holiday
I took walks just to smell the pine

The moment I heard 'Forget the Girl' on a mix years ago, I fell in love, and I was so delighted to find more music by the same band. Avery's lyrics are a standout in the world of wizard rock, and I don't say this lightly. His grasp of characters and the heartfelt, poetic songwriting and delivery are second to none. I adore songs about canon relationships that give me new insights, and this album does that so well. yourwizardrockresource

This is a wildly uneven, unpredictable collection. And that is as it should be. From spoken word to rap to singer/songwriter acoustic to hard rock, this has at least one song for everyone. John Gaunt
